Frequently Asked Questions:

IS THERE AN EXTRA CHARGE FOR THE 1ST CLEANING?
Your initial clean-up fee up to 25 lb.'s will be waived if you sign up for our weekly service.  One month’s payment must be made in advance to take advantage of this offer.  However, if your yard is exceptionally dirty, we do reserve the right to charge an additional fee.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET A ONE-TIME ONLY SERVICE?
We do not provide one time service calls.


DO MY DOGS NEED TO BE PUT AWAY WHILE YOU’RE IN MY YARD / CAN YOU WORK WITH MY DOG IN THE YARD?
In most cases, we don’t mind at all if your dog is in the yard as long as we have been properly introduced and there is no threat.
If it becomes apparent that your dog will not allow us to clean your yard, then we ask that you restrain or confine your dog.  If we are unable to service your yard because of your dog you will still be charged your normal visit fee.  If this continues to be an issue, we reserve the right to cancel service.

HOW DO YOU DISPOSE OF THE DOG POOP?
We haul away all waste and dispose of it according to law, in an approved waste management facility.

DO YOU WORK IN BAD WEATHER?
Yes, we work in all weather. Occasionally, due to ice, snow, or unusually heavy rains/lightning, we may be unable to make your regularly scheduled pick-up. If this happens, we will reschedule within 72 hours. If we are unable to reschedule, we will clean up the two-week accumulation on the next scheduled visit. Because we will be picking up the same amount of waste, you will still be charged for both weeks of service.

DO I STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR SERVICE IF I AM OUT OF TOWN?
In the event that you will be out of town and the dogs will not be staying on the premises, your service will be temporarily postponed until your return and no service fees will be charged.  Please contact us at least 48 hours before service needs to be placed on hold.

I DO NOT MOW MY YARD WEEKLY.  IS THIS A PROBLEM?
We are striving to provide the best service possible, but we are only able to clean up what we can see. If the yard is overgrown or covered in leaves, we have trouble mining all those hidden treasures. Please assist our search by keeping your yard regularly mowed or raked so we can keep your yard as clean as possible. 
 

WILL MY SERVICE DAY EVER CHANGE?
We periodically need to move your pick-up day to optimize our use of personnel and growth. We will notify you at least one week before the change takes effect. We appreciate your understanding about these changes and we will try not to change your pick-up day often.

CAN I CHANGE MY SERVICE DAY?
Not normally. We are in most areas only once a week.  We really appreciate your understanding in this matter.

WHAT IF I LOCK MY GATE?
We prefer to not climb or jump fences so please have your gate unlocked on your service day. To save time, hassles & missed service, most clients get a combination lock so no key is needed nor lost.  Please note, IF SERVICE IS MISSED DUE TO A LOCKED GATE YOU WILL BE BILLED FOR THAT WEEK.

WHAT IS YOUR GATE PROCEDURE?
All gates will be shut upon entry and departure.  If locks are required, the gate will be secured as requested.

DO YOU GIVE PRICE DISCOUNTS FOR SMALLER YARDS?
No. Our regular prices are designed for small to medium size yards. If your yard is large then there would most likely be an addition charge but not the other way around.

DO YOU GIVE PRICE DISCOUNTS FOR SMALLER DOGS?
The size of the dog does not affect the prices (the small poop is more difficult for us to find!)

WILL YOU SERVICE MY YARD LESS THAN ONCE PER WEEK?
No.  Service is provided on a weekly basis only.

DO YOU WORK YEAR ROUND?
Yes, your pets don’t stop their business & neither do we. The weather may occasionally delay a cleaning but if it’s possible to get there and clean, we’ll be there for you.

WHERE DO YOU CLEAN?
Most anywhere a dog can “go” - we go. We do only service either front yard OR back yard.  If service is needed for both yards, we do charge an additional fee.

IS THERE A CONTRACT I HAVE TO SIGN?
There is no minimum required service period and no long term contracts to sign.  We do, however, require a signed “Client Agreement” . The “Client Agreement” simply states that you agree to pay us for services rendered by The Backyard Bomb Squad and that we have permission to enter your property to provide services.
 

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
You can start and stop your service over the phone, via email or in person.  A minimum of 24 hours advanced notice is required to avoid any further service fees. 

HOW AM I BILLED?
We bill monthly on your last service day of the month.

WHAT IS YOUR BOUNCED CHECK/COLLECTIONS POLICY?
We charge $25.00 for each bounced check and add it to your bill.
Service will be ceased to accounts that are 30 days delinquent until payment is received.
All accounts that are delinquent 45 days or more will be sent to collections and the fees passed on to the homeowner.
